MULTAN: The Federal Government has stopped funds worth Rs255.6 million that were allotted for development projects in four constituencies in Multan, The Express Tribune has learnt. The funds have not yet been released, despite the fact that tenders have been released by the local government. Due to the non-issuance of funds, many development projects in Multan have not been initiated. These projects include brick and mortar projects, the construction of roads, and other sewerage, water and sanitation projects.  Meanwhile, the most affected constituencies were NA-149, NA-150, NA-151 and NA-153 where funds amounting to Rs100 million, Rs65.1 million, Rs35 million and Rs52 million respectively have not been released. Earlier, the Punjab government allocated Rs213 billion for several development projects in South Punjab, including Multan. Out of this, Rs50 million were allocated for the construction of the Mumtazabad Flyover in the city, Rs800 million for the construction of Shujaabad southern bypass and Rs130 million for the construction of Bosan Road, from Bahauddin Zakariya University to Adda Sahi Chawan.
