Shah Rukh Khan has always chosen to keep mum on controversial matters, case in point: Indo-Pak artist ban. The actor has always steered clear of any subject that might bring the spotlight on him.

However, when the news of SRK's cousin Noor Jehan contesting for the upcoming elections from a Peshawar constituency came out, all hell broke loose.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's cousin to contest elections from Peshawar

This led to the superstar falling prey to Twitter trolls. Social media users asked Shah Rukh to leave India and participate in the Pakistani elections.

A series of rants and tweets filled with abuse and crass words circulated online. While some highlighted his “love for Pakistan” by stating how he chose Pakistani players for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, others talked about Mahira Khan starring in Raees after the Uri terror attack, calling it an evidence for Shah Rukh not being a true 'patriot'.
