People throng markets for Eid

Security tightened at sensitive areas

RAWALPINDI: Preparations for Eidul Fitr are in full swing as people are thronging markets in droves all over the garrison city. After iftar, the bazaars and markets are full of eager shoppers. Shopping malls located at Raja Bazaar, Moti Bazaar, Commercial Market, Bara Market and cantonment markets have been fully decorated adding colour to the festive atmosphere. Nowadays, shoppers women and children in particular are busy buying bangles, henna, clothes,cosmetics, footwear and other items for the festival. Eidul Fitr is considered to be one of the largest religious festivals in the country, celebrated after Ramazan ends. It is celebrated with zeal and fervour and thorough and elaborate measures are made in this regard. Meanwhile, security has been tightened with the deployment of extra police force at various busiest and sensitive sites in the city and other parts of the district to avert any threat.
