‘Karachi among five most polluted cities in the world’
If you’re not sure how to go about this, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Did you know something as small as changing the oil you use for cooking and or the makeup products you purchase can be an eco-friendly act as well, reports IANS. Here is a quick low down on eco-friendly changes you can make in your daily routine that will go a long way for the environment.
1. Avoid chemicals
Choose brands that are vegan, organic, not tested on animals and especially not laden with chemicals. Not only will this safeguard the environment but also enhance the overall quality of your life on an individual level. To have a healthy lifestyle, do make sure that you keep away from synthetic formulas, and only use certified organic products to your daily regime.
2. Recycle
As Global Citizens, one should be eco-conscious and aware of the harmful impacts that even the smallest of things – such as packaging of products – can have on the environment. It is advisable that you purchase products that are packed in either cartons made up of eco-friendly recyclable material. If not, you try and opt for product with packaging that is 100% bio-degradable.
3. Go organic
This is very important! Look out for products that have an organic certification. This implies that they have been grown organically and abide by the agricultural regulations. Organic agriculture preserves the Earth's ecosystem and prevents several forms of pollution. These might be slightly pricier (and often imported) but it’s well worth it.
4. Decrease carbon footprint
An easy way to reduce your carbon footprint is to buy locally produced products. When you purchase local stuff, instead of buying products that were shipped from far away, you are actually supporting local brands. And also, processed goods take a lot of energy, first for processing part and then, the fuel consumption in transportation.
