Compulsory teaching of Holy Quran bill passed in Punjab Assembly
The minister expressed these views while addressing a ceremony organised by Punjab Curriculum and Text Book Board (PCTB) with reference to the compulsory teaching of the Holy Quran in schools. PCTB Managing Director Abdul Qayyum, Chief executive PEC Rao Aslam, Additional Director Syed Mubashar Hussain and Schools Director Public Instruction Mumtaz Shah were also present on the occasion.
He said it has been made possible by the joint efforts of school education and Punjab Assembly to implement this education of Quran with translation bill. He commented that Education Secretary and PCTB Chairperson Lt-General (retd) Akram Khan and PCTB MD Abdul Qayyum must be congratulated in this regard.
