ISLAMABAD: Residents of private cooperative housing societies situated in surroundings of Islamabad Expressway were annoyed due to proper lack of facilities.

People are facing critical issues like shortage of water, damaged roads, badly maintained parks, heaps of garbage and weak security system.

These societies are supervised by poor management, which does not pay attention to the problems being faced by the residents.

The management was charging full monthly dues from inhabitants but does not care about civic issues which was disappointing the residents

Sheikh Bilal, a resident of Soan Gardens said, "We had heard that this society has all facilities but when we started living here, things got exposed badly.”

The condition of some streets and roads of the society was very poor, especially in rainy weather it became more adverse, he added.

He said that shortage of water in the society has become a permanent problem and the residents were forced to hire private water tankers which were charging a hefty amount from them.

Mahmood Ali Warrich, another resident of CBR Housing Society said the management of these societies were looting the residents with both hands and failed to provide basic facilities.

"The societies do not provide water regularly which is basic need of the people so we have to wait for a week to get water and often we have to use water tankers to fulfill our needs, which costs much more money," he said.

Mian Zahoor Ahmed and Muhammad Qayyum, residents of PWD society said, the society administration failed in resolving the various issues of the people of this area.

The residents of all societies urged the concerned authorities to keep check on the performance of management of the societies.

When contacted, representative of a society said that they were trying to resolve issues faced by the residents.
