Apple’s internal documents were recently revealed by Judge Lucy Koh as a part of the ongoing suit against Apple.

The case has revealed that Apple knew that iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were more likely to bend than previous models.

According to the documents, Apple’s internal tests did show that iPhone 6 was 3.3 times more likely to bend than iPhone 5S while 6 Plus was 7.2 times more likely to bend than the other models, reported The Verge.

Back in 2014, the controversy known as ‘bendgate’ took the world by storm which discovered that iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were bendy which then Apple rebutted. The company went as far as to rigorously testing its products for any bending issues.

Soon after that, iPhone 6 units began to have a touch problem where the touchscreen would fail due to a flaw in the touch-controller chips on the motherboard. Apple concurred this as a problem with the phone if it was dropped too many times.

The company then made internal changes to the design of both iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models, adding extra epoxy to strengthen the area underneath the chip in May 2016 but the company still refused to acknowledge the bending problem with the two smartphone models.
