Victim Usman had an argument with accused Murtaza at truck stand

SARGODHA: A man who suffered injuries in a firing incident a few days ago, breathed his last at District Headquarter Hospital in Sargodha on Tuesday.

A police official told Express News that victim Usman Akbar had an argument with accused Murtaza Arif over a matter at a truck stand. He added both men started fighting; however, people present on the spot intervened and resolved the matter.

The official said that later in a bid to take revenge, Murtaza opened fire on Usman while he was passing on Risala Road. As a result, he was critically injured and was admitted to DHQ hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, Murtaza succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The police have registered a case and arrested the accused. Further investigation was under way.

In another incident, a rickshaw driver lost both his legs after a car collided with his rickshaw near Shiekha Nawala. Police said Arif was travelling to Shahpur in his rickshaw when a car, coming from the opposite direction, collided with his three-wheeler. During the accident, Arif lost both of his legs and was shifted to DHQ hospital.

Meanwhile, six people were injured in different road crashes in Khushab area. The first incident took place in Wasti Sher Wali, where a motorcyclist collided with a donkey on a road. As a result, motorcyclist Muhammad Ramzan was injured in the accident.

In yet another incident, Muhammad Tariq suffered injuries when his two-wheeler slipped near Khaliqabad.
