Accident: 1 drowns, 3 rescued from canal

GUJRANWALA: A three-year-old boy drowned while three other members of the family were rescued after a car they were travelling in fell in a canal near Qadirabad on Wednesday.   According to the police, Muhammad Umer Farooq, his mother Sughran Bibi, sister Mehvish and three-year-old Shahbaz Ali were travelling to Alipur when their car plunged into a canal while taking a sharp turn.   Umer Farooq, Sughran Bibi and Mehvish were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Rescue officials and local residents could not find the body of the boy.
