Five killed as over-speeding truck hits pickup van in Quetta

Five people receive injuries, declared critical due to head wounds

QUETTA: Five people were killed and five others seriously injured when a truck hit a pickup van in Akhtarabad area of the city near the western bypass on Wednesday.

Police said that the loaded-truck, passing through Akhtarabad, hit the pickup van coming from the opposite side. They said that five people were killed on the spot and as many received serious injuries.

Police rushed to the site soon after receiving information about the incident along with rescue workers and shifted the injured and dead bodies to Bolan Medical College Hospital.



“The condition of five injured is serous as they received head injuries,” hospital sources said.

Police registered a case against the truck driver and took him into custody. They added that tragic incident took place due to over speeding.
