QUETTA: Balochistan Levies Director General Tariq Rehman has said that as China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is expanding at a rapid pace, so are the responsibilities on “our shoulders”.

He stated this while addressing an honorary ceremony at Sibi Cantonment on Tuesday. Rehman was the chief guest on the occasion.

“Peace of Pakistan, particularly Balochistan, is attached with the sacrifices of law enforcers,” said Rehman, adding that Balochistan was not only important due to its vast area but the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had further increased its significance.

He expressed hopefulness that the Levies force would fulfil its duties honestly and professionally.

Rehman said that protecting the lives of the people and giving them a sense of security “is the prime responsibility of law enforcers” and urged them to fulfil their responsibilities with zeal and professionalism.

He said that law enforcers should utilise their energy to thwart nefarious designs of enemies, including those of criminals.

He expressed confidence in the training and capabilities of the force.

In his concluding remarks, the chief guest applauded the sacrifices rendered by the law enforcers who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.

He paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army, who brought peace to Balochistan.
