LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not allow the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to use the parliament as a weapon against the accountability watchdog, said party's core committee member and Senator Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.

Expressing his reaction over Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's speech in the parliament on Wednesday, the senator underlined that the PTI will not let the ruling party succeed in its mission to eradicate the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The prime minister had lashed out at NAB for launching a probe against deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif over alleged laundering of $4.9 million to India.

Sarwar said that actions and mindset of the ruling party clearly show enmity of its leaders with the country and people of Pakistan.

Nawaz demands resignation, apology from NAB chairman

Instead of responding to corruption allegation levelled against them, the PML-N leader wanted to eradicate NAB, but this time the PTI will not let them succeed in their ulterior motives. PTI has become most popular and the biggest political party of the country under the leadership of party chairman Imran Khan.

"Democracy will only be strengthened in Pakistan if politicians of the country will serve nation instead of filling their own pockets.

Rulers have done nothing for people in the past 70 years which is the main reason of the present state of dismal governance and impoverished infrastructure of the country," he said.

Meanwhile, PTI senior central leader Dr Yasmeen Rashid said corruption has penetrated into the blood and bones of the deposed premier Nawaz Sharif. "He has become an undeclared king
of corruption.

However, in upcoming general elections, people of Pakistan will not budge on their tall and false claims."

Rashid said Nawaz was the biggest threat to democracy in the country. He has to give an answer to the people of Pakistan for all his wrong-doings, she said, adding that after winning 2018 general elections her party would return looted money back to the country. She underscored that Nawaz's days have been counted and his political career has almost come to an end.

"Imran's corruption allegations that the Sharif family is looting Pakistan have been proved right."

PTI Central Punjab President Abdul Aleem Khan said the PTI chief would continue to take wickets of the ruling party and patriotic Pakistani would continue to join his party. "After winning 2018 general elections, the PTI is committed to bringing back the looted money."

"Ousted premier is crying foul as he has been caught in corruption cases. After five years, all of a sudden the government has started seeing faults in the NAB because it is conducting a transparent inquiry against Nawaz," he said.

Meanwhile, PTI Central Punjab Information Secretary Dr Murad Raas resigned from Punjab Assembly's Standing Committee on Cooperatives' chairmanship in protest and appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take notice of mega corruption scam in Airport Employees Housing Society, Rawalpindi (AEHS).

Following tendering his resignation, speaking at a news conference Raas said that the ruling party members have been using delaying tactics to put the AEHS case on backburners for past eight months, while citizens who invested in this housing colony are suffering for the last two decades. "I tried my level best to hold meetings particularly to solve this issue but PML-N members always tried to put the issue under the carpet," he said.

He appealed to the CJP to unveil to order a transparent inquiry and unveil the name of these culprits.
