Police say raids being conducted to arrest the suspect

BHAKKAR: A man axed his sister to death over a dispute in Bhakkar’s Darya Khan area on Wednesday.

A police official told Express News a year back, Hafizullah alias Shakir had married a woman in Jandanwala in ‘Watta Satta’ with her sister.

However, his wife left for her parents’ home after an argument with him, while his sister Naheed Akhtar also followed suit.

This enraged accused Hafizullah and he axed his 20-year-old sister Naheed Akhtar to death after a heated argument.

After the incident the police took the body into custody and shifted it to hospital for legal formalities. A case has been registered and raids were being carried out to arrest the suspect.

When Goharwala police station in-charge was contacted, he said the police were conducting raids to arrest the suspect. He added, “The culprit will be arrested soon and will be awarded stern punishment.”

Earlier, a man axed his wife to death over a domestic dispute in Faisalabad.

The police said Naseem Akhtar, wife of Muhammad Ramzan and a resident of Chak No 30-JB, had an argument with her husband over a minor dispute.

As the arguments escalated, Ramzan got enraged and attacked his wife with an axe. As a result, Naseem suffered critical injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment. However, she could not survive and breathed her last.
