LAHORE: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif visited Services Hospital to inquire about the health of Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday.
Nawaz made his way to the provincial capital from Islamabad amid heavy security. Following the meeting, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader prayed for Iqbal’s quick recovery.
Iqbal is currently being treated at the hospital after he was fired upon during a corner meeting in Narowal on Sunday night.

The PML-N leader was exiting a political gathering in his constituency when a suspect opened fire at him. Grazing his elbow, the bullet lodged itself in the interior minister’s abdomen area. Iqbal was moved to an Intensive Care Unit following two surgeries early Monday morning.
Iqbal was flown to Lahore amid heavy security after receiving initial treatment at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Narowal. He was received by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others upon his arrival in the city.
