Three proclaimed offenders reach Lahore in Interpol custody

Accused Shahbaz Sain is prime accused in Tipu Truckan Wala’s murder case

LAHORE: Three suspected proclaimed offenders including Shahbaz Sain, the prime accused in the murder of Tipu Truckan Wala, arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore in the custody of Interpol early on Sunday morning.

The other accused were identified as Muhammad Farooq and Moshin Nawaz. Accused Farooq was wanted in a murder case registered in Kotwali Police Station Gujranwala in 2016. An officer of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) told The Express Tribune that the accused arrived from Dubai under the custody of Punjab police Inspector Khalid Nawaz Weryah (through Interpol) at Lahore airport.

Police, Interpol nab seven absconding suspects

Accused Mohsin Nawaz was wanted in a murder case registered at Kot Momin Police Station Sargodha. The accused arrived at the Lahore airport from Dubai.

Accused Shahbaz Sain also arrived at the Lahore airport from the same flight from Dubai. He was wanted to Sarwar Road Police Station Lahore in the murder case of Tipu Truckanwala in 2010.

The accused had shot at Arif Amir alias Tipu Truckanwala in the parking of the airport when he arrived from Dubai. He had suffered bullet injuries and was admitted to Mayo Hospital where he died.

Truckanwala is an old family of Lahore famous for its old enmities and gang wars. Father of Tipu, Billa Truckanwala was shot dead in 1994 reportedly by Khurram Butt over an enmity. Later, Tipu took the charge of the business of his father and vowed to avenge the murder of his father.

The son of Tipu Truckanwala, Mir Balaj Tipu, is now looking after the business of his father and grandfather. He has been booked in many cases, the recent one is of firing at the house of Teefi Butt and Gogi Butt, another family of Lahore notorious for old enmities.
