NUST licences two IPRs related to tannery industry

ISLAMABAD: Setting a new precedent of technology transfer to industry, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has licensed two Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), relating to fleshing and shaving blades used in tanneries.

The agreements were signed between NUST and Shafi Reso Chemical (SRC), Lahore, a press release said on Monday.

The inventor of the IPs belongs to NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Rawalpindi.

Besides NUST Rector Lt Gen (retd) Naweed Zaman and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Malik Tahir Javed, over 50 industrialists from the region attended the ceremony. NUST Pro-Rector Research, Innovation and Commercialisation Dr Nassar Ikram and SRC CEO Abrar Ahmed signed the agreement.
