Constable Sabir Hussain, the hero police officer who lost a leg while conducting a counter-terror operation in Dera Ghazi Khan, was honoured by his colleagues and presented with a salute of arms.

In a heart-warming gesture, Hussain was showered with rose petals as he emerged from his house and accompanied to a ceremony held in his honour. The constable was also given protocol fit for a hero of his stature.

Hussain sacrificed a limb for Pakistan while battling terrorists and the gesture by his colleagues moved him to tears.

Earlier, Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had directed army officials to undertake an artificial limb procedure for the constable.

“COAS acknowledges the great sacrifice of Constable Sabir Hussain of Punjab Police who lost his limb during an operation in DG Khan,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Friday.

“COAS directs Army Rehabilitation Institute AFIRM to undertake artificial limb procedure for the brave constable,” the DG added.
