
Eight of the victims belonged to same family. Vehari district police officer (DPO) said “Both cars caught fire when their CNG cylinders exploded after a head on collision. Nine people were killed in the collision.”
Police said that two residents of Gujrat, Khalid Gujjar and Pervez, were coming to Burewala in their car (NoLEA-1115) while a nine members of a family were in the other car. Both vehicles collided due to overspeeding and Muhammad Yousuf, 55, Fauzia, 40, Muhammad Ashraf, Haider Usman, 10, Shahid Omar, 8, Hamid Omar, 9, Farzana, 19, Khalid Gujjar and Qaiseen, 2, died on the spot.
