Working together: Liaison police-committee formed to curb robberies

An industrial police liaison committee has been formed to curb abduction for ransom cases in the district.


A function was organised at police lines Faisalabad to inaugurate the industrial police liaison committee on Saturday evening. Members of the administration, industrialists and traders took part in the ceremony and several police officials were also present on the occasion. Industrial Police Liaison Committee (IPLC) chief Syed Umer Nazar Shah said that the committee had been formed to curb abduction for ransom, theft and robbery incidents in the district. “Reports of robberies and kidnapping have risen rapidly over the past couple of years and the police is looking to liaison with civil society and other bodies to tackle this problem,” said Resident Police Officer (RPO) Aftab Ahmed Cheema.

Cheema has ordered police officials to cooperate with the IPLC representatives in this regard.
