Nine people killed in road accidents across different districts over 24 hours

JHANG/ FAISALABAD: At least nine people died in road accidents across different districts over 24 hours, police said on Tuesday.

In the first incident, Muzaffar Abbas, a resident of Haveli Bahadur Shah, was travelling with his mother Mureedan Bibi, sister-in-law Shagufta and one-year-old niece Minhaj Fatima on a motorcycle. The two-wheeler collided with a car coming from the opposite direction on Faisalabad Road.

As a result, Muzaffar and his mother were killed on the spot, while Shagufta was critically injured and was shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital by Rescue 1122 officials.

In another incident, Bilal Siddiq, Amna, Sumaiya and two children, Maria and Abu Bakar, were riding on a motorcycle when it rammed into a tree.

The crash left Maria and Abu Bakar dead on the spot, while Bilal, Amna and Sumaiya were critically injured.

Similarly, Umar Barkat was hit by a car while crossing a street. He was shifted to a hospital where he died.

In yet another incident, Riaz was working on a road when a speeding car crushed him to death.
