KARACHI: The fissure created between MQM-Pakistan's Bahadurabad and PIB factions has become irreparable with both sides parting ways despite concerted efforts to paper over the cracks.

Reconciliation between the two groups has failed, notwithstanding, the many attempts made by both sides.

Farooq Sattar, who leads the PIB faction, is believed to be unwilling to work with Bahadurabad's Amir Khan, as well as,  the Rabita Committee.

The Bahadurabad group, on the other hand, has failed to accept Kamran Tessori along with other Sattar loyalists into the party folds.

Engineered politics threatens MQM-P ahead of elections: Sattar

The deadline given by the Bahadurabad group to Sattar and his workers to return back within their ranks by April 17 and to start working back in their previous positions has now passed.

Party insiders said the PIB faction members could only return as mere party workers and not office bearers.

In view of Sattar loyalists not returning within the set deadline it is expected that important decisions will be made about where both factions stand in the future.

The Bahadurabad group is likely to make important announcements at a press conference scheduled for April 19, where it is expected that they will lambast Sattar and his PIB faction.

Sources said that the likelihood of a unification of the two groups was minimal to say the least.

MQM-P groups fails to reconcile

The Bahadurabad group's Rabita Committee has decided to expedite efforts to win the flag and symbol of the party.

Furthermore, the groups are hoping that they will be the one given the kite symbol.

The Bahadurabad group seems to be certain that Sattar and other MPAs will not return, however, others are still expected to join their ranks.

Sattar is unwilling to work with the current Rabita Committee but the Bahadurabad group does not want to dissolve it until elections are held.
