Hyrdris Wajiuddin of Hydro Fit Team tells all about his fitness mantra. Fitness is not a temporary fix, it’s a way of life and Hydris believes that. Find out why you need to be fit to live a healthy and happy life – from your diet, to the most effective exercises to some fitness taboos, he tells us all!
How would you describe your fitness philosophy?
My fitness philosophy is that it’s never too late to start a healthy lifestyle. Never give up on yourself, just keep trying to be better, push yourself. Be the best version of yourself. It’s you vs you.
What inspired you to join the fitness industry?
I have always been into sports from a very young age and I believe it made me a more productive and happy person. Hence, I wanted other people to experience the benefits of a healthy lifestyle too!
Three things in your diet you can’t go a day without?
My protein shakes, eggs and granola.
What’s your typical day like?
Well I begin training my clients by 7:30am and end my training by 10:30pm. So basically it’s a very fitness packed day. However, I always make time for my own workout, as I believe that no matter what the day is like, health wise everyone should put themselves first. Only if you yourself are healthy can you help the people around you.
What is the most effective exercise according to you?
Squats are for sure the most effective exercise in my experience.
What is your favourite food to eat on a cheat day?
A big juicy beef burger or pizza.
What are some common fitness misconceptions/questions you are asked by your clients?
The most common question is about weights and mostly by women, as most women think weight training will cause them to gain bulky unsightly muscle. But this is untrue; weights are very important in losing weight and when used correctly will never make a woman too bulky.
How is your fitness mantra different from others?
Well I think the biggest difference I feel is that I believe that fitness is a lifestyle not a quick fix. It’s a way of life and there is no short cut to losing weight.
Which celebrity would you like to train and why?
I train almost all of them Alhamdullilah.
Something you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love the beach and the outdoors. Most Sundays you will find me trying to get in touch with some nature in some form or the other!
Future plans for Hydrofit?
There are big plans in the pipeline for Hydro Fit Team, something for everyone to look forward to. So watch out!
A saying or quote that keeps you going?
No pain no gain is my all-time favourite quote. It reminds me
to always push myself and to aim high.
