KARACHI:
Over 200 zonal and club cricketers held a strong protest under the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA), accusing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the national selection committee of doing injustice to ‘deserving’ players from Karachi. The cricketers assembled outside the Karachi Press Club and chanted slogans against the PCB and its selection committee and demanded that PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt and chief selector Mohsin Khan resign. KCCA Secretary Ijaz Faroqi termed the non-selection of Karachi players in national team as a planned conspiracy. “The PCB is intentionally sidelining Karachi players,” said Faroqi. “When they have no reasons to drop a player, they snub them by giving various reasons like disciplinary action.”
