Freedom of religion: Church opens its doors for worship at UAF 

The church has been established at a cost of Rs7.6 million

FAISALABAD: The newly-constructed Church in Christian Colony Shahbaz Town at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad was inaugurated on Sunday. It was inaugurated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar. Bishop Josef Arshad, Father Younus Inyat and other officials were present, a press release issued stated.

The church, which has been established at a cost of Rs7.6 million will allow 350 Christian employees working at the university as well as their families the opportunity to worship in their locality.

On the occasion, Iqbal Zafar congratulated the Christian community over the church. He said, “Just as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had once envisioned, all minorities have an equal right to worship in the country.”

He said that all the inhabitants, irrespective of their religion, cast, creed, and colour were playing their part in the development and prosperity of the country.
