Substandard Service: Railways GM summoned on June 22

LAHORE: A consumer court on Friday summoned the Pakistan Railways general manager and a reservation officer on June 22 in a suit seeking payment of Rs1 million in damages for poor service.

Complainant Javaidur Rehman said that he and his family had had to travel from Lahore to Kundian standing in the train despite having paid for reserved seats and berths.

He said he had reserved two seats in Bogie No 4 of 147-up Mari Indus Express for April 8 paying the fare.

He said when he with his wife and a son went to the railway station on the said day they found out that the boggie had not been attached to the train. He said the three of them had to travel in another bogie which was already full to capacity.

None of the respondents were available for comments.
