How did you begin your career in event management?
I started my career after doing my son’s second birthday which was a really big hit among my friends and family and from there, I took it professionally. I always had a creative side to me and wanted to explore my abilities. I got an opportunity which I happily grabbed.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
Nature inspires me; I would just sit outside and stare at clouds, plants or the sea for hours and wouldn’t get bored. I get amazed by the beautiful colours and textures we are surrounded by. At times I marvel at how the canvas of this universe has so much to offer that one can never fall short of inspiration.
Which event planner international or local are you most inspired by?
Locally if you ask me, I really love what Amina Rashid does at Raka Events - her work is gorgeous.
What do you like most about your job?
The challenge every new theme brings with it, I just love how fun it is to work on different things every time - how I have to challenge myself; that is the best thing.
What is most challenging about your job?
Although I have been doing events for almost four years now, I still get butterflies before every event that I do but thankfully I have got a great team with me which helps me pull off my ideas. Stress management is still a challenging task about my job.
How would you describe your event management style? How do you add your signature touch to each event?
I believe in keeping things chic and minimalistic. So whenever I am working on an idea, I always make sure it doesn’t go overboard and has my signature touch to it.
What do you believe are some event themes that might be big hits in 2018?
Marble and copper, geometric designs and colourful cactus.
What do you think makes a good event?
A good event comprises of everything executed well in time with everything in place. The tiniest details to the large outlook, it all matters and makes an event look good.
Describe your style of work in three words.
Chic, minimalistic, competitive.
Is there anything exciting that you are working on at the moment that you can tell us about?
Well there is a lot on the radar but currently taking baby steps to further excel and understand the opportunities. Whatever I do in future will be related to the creative side and something kids centric.
What are your event planning/design goals?
My goal is to keep innovating with new distinctive ideas to excel and to make the memories and experiences better for our clients.
