Teenage girl abducted, killed in Sargodha under mysterious circumstances

Police say suspects tried to rape her when she was on her way home

SARGODHA: A 16-year-old girl named Misbah was killed after the abduction, Kot Momin police said on Monday.

She was the student of 1st year and lived in Moazzamabad Tehsil Kot Momin. Police said some unknown persons caught her and allegedly attempted to rape her when she was on her way home. On resistance, they strangled her, threw her into fields while she was unconscious and fled.

Later, she was shifted to DHQ hospital in serious condition where she succumbed to her injuries. On the report of Omar Hayat, the brother in law of the deceased girl, police registered a case and started an investigation.

In a separate incident, a teacher was killed in an accident in Bhalwal police limits on Monday. Police sources said that a schoolteacher Ghulam Haider of Dev Wal was heading towards Bhalwal on a motorcycle when it collided with a Crain machine. As a result, the motorcyclist died on the spot.

Similarly, two people, including a woman were killed and another injured in separate accidents in Bhera police limits on Monday.

Police said that Nasreen Bibi, 25, of Chak 24/NB along with her mother Sardaran Bibi was travelling on a motorcycle rickshaw when a recklessly driven van coming from opposite direction collided with the rickshaw. As a result, Nasreen died on the spot while her mother received injuries.

In another accident, a speeding car hit a motorcycle near Chak Alipur Syedan Bhera. As a result motorcyclist Zamurd Khan died on spot.
