FIA arrests five passengers deported by Turkey

Passengers had travelled to Greece via the land route of Gwadar, Iran and Turkey without any travel documents

LAHORE: The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested eight passengers who were deported by Turkey on Friday.

The deportees were identified as Syed Hassan Raza, Zulfiqar Ali, Toheed Ahmad, Nadeem Faisal, Ghulam Hussain, Muhammad Riaz, Bilal, and Yasir Masih.

The men reached Allama Iqbal International Airport on Friday. During the initial investigation, it was revealed that the passengers had travelled to Greece via the land route of Gwadar, Iran and Turkey without any travel documents. The men were arrested by Turkish authorities and deported to Pakistan. FIA was investigating the matter further.

Similarly, two passengers were deported by South Africa on Friday. The suspects were identified as Jafar Hussain and Muhammad Hasaan Shafiq. Jafar paid Rs5,50,000 to his travel agent named Amir Munir.   The men reached Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on emergency passports citing with the reason being stated as "Overstayed, Illegal Immigrant".
