Missing Mum: 3-year-old dies in beating by dad

LAHORE: A man has been arrested and confessed to beating his three-year-old daughter to death for asking for her mother, police said on Thursday. SI Muhammad Azam said Tariq Mehmood had moved to the Kharak Nala area from Bahawalpur to escape his two bickering wives, Saima and Shaheen. Tariq had brought his and Saima’s daughter Maheen with him, but she missed her mother and kept asking to go back. Tariq lost his temper and allegedly beat her, killing the child. The SI said she had bruises on her neck and face.
