MULTAN: The demand of wheat harvesting reaper machines has increased in south Punjab due to non-availability of labour. Owing to the hot and dry weather for the past few days and the low number of labourers in the fields, the wheat crop has reached its final stage of harvesting. In order to respond to the situation, the local farmers are visiting different workshops to get wheat harvesting reapers. Similarly, farmers with resources to purchase the machines are also willing to provide them on a rental basis. According to a survey conducted by APP, harvesting reaper machines of different companies are available in the market at different prices. A local workshop owner Abdul Rehman informed that demand of the machines has increased with the start of the season.
