LAHORE: Rescue 1122 will provide schools, colleges and universities with training, stated Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer at the concluding ceremony of the CADRE course on Thursday.

The Rescue Scout Programme is in close collaboration with the school education department. The objective of this initiative is to prevent accidents to build a safer community, he said.

All trained officers and middle managers will develop an auxiliary team of instructors at the district level and will ensure the safety of promotional activities, contributing towards a safer Punjab, he added.

Volunteers always participate and help in any emergency situation. Therefore, Rescue 1122 is establishing a Community Emergency Response Team to manage any untoward situation, he expressed.

These teams will also help rescue workers in the event of a major disaster, when we require the services of volunteers the most, he said. Rescue 1122 is training students so that they can become responsible citizens and prevent emergencies.

At the end of the ceremony, the DG distributed commendatory certificates among those who participated in the CADRE course.
