BAHAWALPUR: Under the supervision of Emergency Service Rescue 1122, the patient transfer service in Bahawalpur shifted 7,921 patients from rural health centres and tehsil headquarter hospitals to civil hospitals and from one district to other district.  A press release issued on Tuesday stated that a meeting was held in this regard with Divisional Emergency Officer Malik Asif Raheem Channar in chair. The meeting reviewed the progress and performance of patient transfer service in the region. The meeting was told that under the directives of chief minister, ambulances of the health department were handed over to Rescue1122 in February in 2017 to transfer patients from one hospital to another round the clock and without charging fee from the patients. The divisional emergency officer said that new drivers and paramedics had been recruited to perform duties at their workplace.
