SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Zahid Latif Malik has called for extending interest-free loans to exporters on the basis of their five-year export performance. These loans would be given for the import of new machinery, which would help improve the overall technological infrastructure of the industry, he added. “The government needs to streamline the flow of goods to existing markets and identify potential markets for export of ‘Made in Pakistan’ products in the Far East, Central Asian Republics, Latin America and Russia, he said, adding Sialkot was an export hub, earning $2 billion through its exports and strengthening national exchequer. The SCCI president suggested that the Sialkot Export Processing Zone should be given the status of a special economic zone in order to facilitate the business communities of Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sialkot.
