Five people were killed in a clash between Pakistani tribesmen and Afghan security forces on the Pak-Afghan border on Thursday.

Sources say people killed in the clash include three tribesmen and two Afghan national army personnel in the Luwara Mandi area at the Pak-Afghan border.

Initial reports suggest that the clash erupted following unprovoked firing by the Afghan national army at tribesmen on Pakistani side of the border.

Authorities on both sides of the border are trying to control the situation.

No official information has been provided to the media as to why the clash started.
