ISLAMABAD: Ideals of the Bangladesh’s liberation struggle as enshrined in its Proclamation of Independence, namely, equality, human dignity and social justice have remained the guiding principles of the country in her forward journey as an independent nation.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarik Ahsan said at a reception to mark 47th anniversary of independence and National Day.

Ambassador Ahsan and his wife welcomed the guests who included Mayor Anser Aziz, Punjab Minister for Mines and Minerals Sher Ali Khan, besides members of Senate and National Assembly, senior civil and military officials, businessmen, journalists, members of civil society and cultural community as well as diplomats and heads of international organisations.

A lively dance programme was an added attraction to the reception. The performance of dance by five ladies wearing colourful Bangladeshi sarees to the tune of patriotic songs enthralled the guests.
