FAISALABAD: Private fish farming is witnessing an upward trend across the province due to the Punjab government’s efforts to produce quality fish.

This was stated by Punjab Fisheries, Forest and Wildlife Secretary Mian Waheeduddin during his visit to the Government Fish Farm close to Himmatpura near the University of Agriculture Faisalabad.

He said the fisheries department had provided the facility of fish hunting to locals at the government fish farm situated in Lyallpur Park, Himmatpura.

He added that in a bid to promote fish farming and provide quality recreational facilities to citizens, Lyallpur Park would be turned into a scenic location.

“The provincial government is focusing on the development and promotion of forests and forest population. To this end, research and training sessions are being arranged across Punjab.”
