PESHAWAR:
Accelerating their campaign against encroachment, the district administration and police on Monday arrested a dozen shopkeepers for illegally placing goods on footpaths in front of their shops and occupying public space. Additional Assistant Commissioner Tariq Hussain, along with a contingent of traffic police, conducted a raid at Shoba Bazaar in the city. As many as 12 shopkeepers violating the encroachment ban were arrested. Hussain said that work on Bus Rapid Project was underway near Shoba Bazaar and the encroachment was disrupting the flow of traffic.
