PESHAWAR: The political administration of Frontier Region (FR) Bannu has completed a drinking water supply scheme for the community of Kotka Mirzakim Khan in Baka Khel Tehsil, FR Bannu.

According to the Fata Directorate of Information, the Governor’s Secretariat has also encouraged people to boil water before use and adopt hygienic measures to protect themselves against a host of possible ailments.

It added that the political administration has completed the drinking water supply scheme by drilling a 213 metre tube well, constructing a pump house, a surface tank, installing a pump, a 2.06 kilometre distribution pipeline, and a 50 KV transformer.

The project will benefit about 4,000 members of the Utmanzai Wazir tribe which lives in Kotka Mirzakim Khan. The local community thanked the administration and added that provision of basic amenities to these underdeveloped areas would make the people useful citizens and help the government’s efforts to overcome soaring crime rates in FATA.
