The delegation was headed by FHF Programme Director John Crail and CBM Chief Executive Massimo Maggio.
Institute of Ophthalmology Principal Prof Asad Aslam Khan briefed Rafique regarding the services of FHF including their assistance in preventing and treating eye diseases, alongside strengthening ophthalmology departments in the public sector by providing equipment and training.
He stated that FHF and CBM had extended extraordinary cooperation, technical assistance and resources in setting up modern healthcare facilities in Punjab.

He added that FHF is launching a special project concerning eye care and a referral system in Rahim Yar Khan and Bahwalpur. Furthermore, a vision screening project is being launched in the district of Khushab, Hafizabad and Tehsil Talagang, he added.
FHF launched a childhood cataract surgery project in Punjab in 2017 which is now being run successfully. FHF and CBM have rendered invaluable services in promoting eye healthcare facilities in Pakistan, he added.
FHF Programme Director John Crail said that his foundation and CBM will wholeheartedly cooperate in the third national survey of blindness in Pakistan, scheduled to take place in Septeber 2018.
The joint delegation also called on Nazir, where Aslam informed the minister of the role that FHF has played in expanding and strengthening the eye care services across the districts. FHF will set up 79 new eye centres at THQ level, he added.
We hope to eliminate trachoma by 2021, for which both NGOs will contribute towards wholeheartedly, he stated.
Both ministers appreciated the services of the NGOs and thanked the delegates on the behalf of the Punjab government and the health department.
