KARACHI:

The summer vacation for all private and government schools will be in July and August, while schools following the Cambridge system will continue following the old June-July vacation schedule.

This was decided at a steering committee meeting of the heads of all private, government and Cambridge schools at a meeting held at the Sindh Secretariat Office on Wednesday.

Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq said the notification would be issued after Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah approves it. The decision has been taken because Ramazan will fall in August for the next three years. However, Cambridge schools can decide after this year if they want to re-schedule their vacation.

This meeting was the first time the heads of Cambridge schools were present at the steering committee meeting, in which the minister also suggested they include Sindhi in their curriculum.
