If you have a group of disagreeable folks, how do you get them to work together? Throw them all into a rubber dinghy and set them on a temperamental river with little option other than to work like a team.

The Tourism Corporation Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) and the Adventure Edge Club Sunday organised something similar by inviting members of minority communities to take a trip down the Kabul River.

Over 80 members from the Christian, Hindu and Sikh communities participated in the event. They raced from Jehangira to the old Attock Bridge, covering the six-kilometre tough and rough distance in 10 boats.

Rescue 1122, police and personnel of emergency departments were present to provide security and emergency services.

Talking to media, the participants appreciated the gesture from the TCKP and the Adventure Edge Club adding that it was an adventurous and thrilling event.

They said the event provided recreational opportunity to the youth and families and would promote adventure tourism in the region.

Later, chief guest gave away prizes and certificates to the participants.
