Police register case on complaint of victim's family

KARACHI: Police arrested a seminary teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor boy in Karachi on Sunday.

Qari Hammad, the accused, was arrested in the Saeedabad area of Baldia Town.

"We've registered a case against Qari Hammad on the complaint of the victim's family,"District West Police chief SSP Omar Shahid Hamid said.

Shakeel Khan, the victim's father, claimed that Hammad raped his nine-year-old son.

Hammad teaches at the Khola Albinyat Madrassa located at the Bismillah Chowk in Saeedabad.

Seven-year-old boy found ‘raped, killed’ in Karachi

Saeedabad police have registered a case in this regard and an investigation is underway. The victim was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for a medical.

The incident comes in the wake of the Ministry of Human Rights revealing that since 2013 a whopping 17, 862 cases of child abuse have been reported in the country, including girls and boys.
