MUMBAI: The Kapoor sisters came together for the 17th India Today Conclave 2o18. Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor spoke about almost everything, right from film to family and from nepotism to feminism.

One of the most unforgettable moments of the night was when the sisters met former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. The three of them posed for pictures.

Karisma looked stunning in a black dress with long netted sleeves, Kareena played it sophisticated and classy in an all-white suit.

The duo talked about the controversies and myths regarding Kapoor khandaan.

In a conversation with journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, the Jab We Met star was asked if too much of media scrutiny spoils their private life, especially after how the social media trolled her son's name.

To this Kareena said, "Of course, there was trolling but at the same time there was an immense support from the people we were getting, not that trolls matter to us that much but it was our choice."

"The day before I was going to the hospital for delivery, I had a talk with Saif and he was suggesting to keep his name Faiz, he said, 'Bebo, that is a more poetic, more romantic name'. I said 'No, Taimur means iron and if I give birth to a son, my son is going to be a fighter, I will produce an iron man'. And yes, I proudly did so."

Karisma then discussed a misconception that the Kapoor family is too traditional to allow their daughters-in-law to work in films.

"I think it is a myth that Kapoor bahus (daughters-in-law) do not work. Whether it is my mother (Babita, wife of Randhir Kapoor) or Neetu (Rishi Kapoor's wife) aunty, they made a choice of not working after marriage and having children."

"On the other hand, Jennifer (Kendal - wife of Shashi Kapoor) aunty and Geeta (Bali - first wife of Shammi Kapoor) aunty worked throughout, even after marriage. So we all practised our choice," said the Judwaa star.

To which Kareena added, "Also, I think our parents were very cosmopolitan. They did not stop us from doing what we wanted to. My father was very supportive. Though he did not recommend us to any producer, he always encouraged us to fly."

The sisters were then asked if nepotism exists in Bollywood.

Kareena replied, "There are so many superstars from yesteryears and not all of their children are a superstar. If nepotism exists, they would have been a big star by now."

"The fact that Ranveer Singh has become the new superstar of Bollywood who does not come from a film family proves the fact that they become superstar out of their sheer talent and hard work. Nepotism does not exist," she said.

"I think it is about the talent that takes you where you go. When you are on-screen, anybody can make or break you; anyone can make a judgment on you irrespective of you are a daughter or grandchildren of someone," said Karisma.

"And for a youngster who has a huge family and legacy behind, is much tough to make a mark," she added.

While they were countered that Kangana said otherwise, Karisma asserted, "People can have their opinion and we should respect each opinion."

SK | 6 years ago | Reply Why are you even writing about this murderous criminal? Please watch "The Clinton Chronicles," and "Hillary: A Career Criminal," both available for free on YouTube. This disgusting criminal was recently accused of ordering the murders of two teenage boys, Kevin Ives, and Don Henry, in 1987, Arkansas. Billy Jack Haynes, a former WWE/WWF wrestler confessed to having been hired by the Clintons to be there the night of the murders. Wake up, people, and educate yourselves instead of writing articles about this POS as if she is actually a worthy human being. She's a sociopathic disgrace and child murderer.
