KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan has almost completed the delineation of electoral constituencies for the national and provincial assemblies in Sindh. A formal announcement in this regard is expected to be made today (Monday).

The new delimitation, however, has not changed the total number of electoral constituencies in the province for either the National Assembly or Sindh Assembly. Residents of Sindh will elect 61 and 130 representatives for the National Assembly and provincial assembly respectively, as was the case before.

What has changed instead is the distribution of constituencies among districts. One NA and two Sindh Assembly constituencies have been added in Karachi, making the total number of constituencies in the provincial capital 21 and 44 respectively.

Within Karachi division, the highly populated District West has the highest number of seats, which are five for the NA and 11 for the provincial assembly.
