Power woes: Experts to meet to address AJK electricity matters

ISLAMABAD: The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the Power Division have agreed to convene an expert-level meeting next week in an effort to address electricity-related matters of the autonomous region.

The consent came in a meeting between Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Wednesday.

In the expert meeting, which will be held on March 5, the AJK side will be led by its energy secretary while the Power Division will be led by an additional secretary who will be assisted by officials of the power wing, Private Power and Infrastructure Board and other allied organisations.

During deliberations, the Power Division minister apprised the AJK premier of the steps being taken for improving the electricity system and service delivery to consumers.
