LAHORE: Sports activities are essential for life because such activities encourage a culture of discipline and tolerance in society, said Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar.

Dr Zakar said that students were very talented, who were competing in every field of life.

Butt said that women's participation in co-curricular activities in the Punjab University was the proof that society's development was impossible without their involvement.

In the three-day sports gala, other sports competitions, including cricket, ludo, chess, tug of war and football for students, were organised. Later, prizes were distributed among the successful students.
