He was speaking at the closing ceremony of a three-day sports gala organised by PU College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) on Saturday.
Chairman Overseas Pakistan Commission Khalid Shaheen Butt, Principal CEES Dr Sajid Rasheed, faculty members and large number students were present on the occasion.
Dr Zakar said that students were very talented, who were competing in every field of life.
Butt said that women's participation in co-curricular activities in the Punjab University was the proof that society's development was impossible without their involvement.
He added that games were very important for mental and physical fitness. Dr Rashid said that such activities portray a soft image of the university.
In the three-day sports gala, other sports competitions, including cricket, ludo, chess, tug of war and football for students, were organised. Later, prizes were distributed among the successful students.
