Rangers arrest MQM-London worker in Karachi raid

The LEA also claimed to have recovered during raidshuge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to MQM-L

KARACHI: Paramilitary force – Rangers on Friday claim to have arrested a suspect allegedly belonging to a political party.

The accused, identified as Umair alias Soni, was arrested during a raid conducted on a tip-off in Federal B Industrial Area.

According to Rangers spokesperson, the accused belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) was involved in various cases of crime, including drug peddling. The accused was later handed over to police.

Separately, the Rangers claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to MQM-L during raids in various parts of the city including Surjani, Garden and Baldia Town.

According to Rangers spokesperson, the recovered arms and ammunition were to be used in terror activities in a city. The recovered cache included six rifles, one SMG, one repeater, one pistol and hundreds of rounds.
