Convocation: Doctors are Pakistan’s ambassadors: Governor

The convocation was for the graduates of 2016-17 where 310 students received their medical degrees

LAHORE: Doctors are Pakistan’s ambassadors; they bring a good name to the country, said Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana while addressing the 16th Convocation of the Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC) on Saturday.

The convocation was for the graduates of 2016-17 where 310 students received their medical degrees. Apart from distributing degrees to the graduates, Rajwana also handed out 28 gold, 33 silver and 5 bronze medals.

He also emphasized on the Hippocratic Oath, stressing that doctors must live by the oath they have taken and serve the people. Pakistan is known all over the world for its medical professionals, as a result doctors are the ambassadors of our country, he added.

AIMC Principal Prof Dr Muhammad Rashid Zia said that he was proud of the graduates of the college who had done good for the institution. He advised the graduates to work hard in serving the profession of medicine. Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Special Secretary Dr Sajid Mahmood Chauhan senior professors and faculty members attended the ceremony.
