ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested a man who allegedly killed his sister by slitting her throat on Wednesday.

The family told the police that 45-year-old Muhammad Mushtaq had allegedly killed his elder sister in their Jhangi Syedan home on Wednesday.

Though they rushed her to the hospital, she could not hang on for the duration of the trip and died before reaching the health facility.

The family explained that Mushtaq was unemployed and often used to demand money from his elder sister, a 55-year-old widow with four children.

The two often quarreled, they said.

On Wednesday, an enraged Mushtaq attacked his sister with a blunt object. He fatally injured her and fled.

An officer from the Noon police said the victim worked as a domestic helper to support her children and that Mushtaq used to live with them.
