Murderers waiting for victim since morning: report

Details of the killings of Ahmed Gujjar and Asif Iqbal revealed

LAHORE: Murderers were sitting outside the court since morning and waiting for the victim to launch an attack, stated a report on killing of two people, including a policeman. The document was submitted to a sessions judge by City Division SP Ali Raza.

The report revealed that assailants opened fire on Amjad Gujjar and head constable Asif Iqbal, killing them on the spot. It stated that after the incident, security at sessions and other courts was tightened, while police deployment had been increased.

Meanwhile, an FIR against the incident was registered at Islampura police station against suspects Tauqeer and Ibadat. The case was registered on complaint of Judicial Inspector Rana Akmal under terrorism act, murder, attempt to murder and interference in government matters.

The funeral prayers of martyred police constable Asif Iqbal were offered at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines. A large number of people, including IGP Arif Nawaz Khan, CCPO Amin Wains and other senior police officers were present on occasion.
